Looking Through Stained Glass

I Remember

woman mourning

The mirror stares at eyes empty
In search for that which made them full
When life was good and joys plenty
And gave not in to sorrows pull

''I remember another me
The me I lost along the way
When Choice gave in to Destiny
And Soul believed it had no say''

I search so hard for that you see
When I embraced all life could throw
Those sweet feelings of joi de vie
That time now seems so long ago

I miss - I do - that part of me
When possibilities seem vast
Heartache fills my eternity
Though it’s barely a scant month past

How dark, how dark my moods they be
I bear knowing their not my norm
But how long ‘till I re-find me
And return to my once gay form
