Looking Through Stained Glass

Summer Day Rain Into Night

The morning sun
To which I woke
Was just undone
By gray cloud’s choke
Planned summer fun
With my fine bloke
So hatched with care
Shot down so soon

I want to mope
My bubble popped
Decide I’ll cope
As more rain dropped
An answered hope
Rain has just stopped
Surprise him there
Late afternoon

Now near sunset
A living calm
No clouds to threat
The sky is balm
Greet a scene set
Under a palm
Where on lounge chair
Rose petals strewn

It’s so complete
After the squall
The air so sweet
Floral enthrall
Only our seat
Spares me the fall
He takes me there
His kisses swoon

To mock chagrin
I’m so far gone
As I’m swept in
His muscled brawn
It’s almost sin
To be such pawn
Feelings we share
Just as we spoon

The day espies
Its lowest depth
And thus it dies
A painless death
We’re filled with sighs
Our fevered breath
The warm night air
In evening moon
